Two new houses that stretch the idea of the modern barn literally and figuratively.

The long narrow plots called for linear houses, so they are treated as pure barn-like volumes outside with spectacular barn-like double-height living spaces inside.

The external skin is a smooth envelope with huge cut-outs for the garden openings and tile skin which wraps down over the eaves and over the wall below.

All credit to the developer who realised that the houses needed to be special in form and finish and took the time and care to build them beautifully.
